Welcome! I'm an earth scientist by training, and a teacher and
photojournalist by trade. I
received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Certificate of
Environmental Studies
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I continued my education at
the Ohio University
where I studied natural hazards and visual communications
and earned a Master of Arts degree. Today, my photographs appear in books, television,
national imagery collections, government publications, and other media.
I am a
member of the American Society of Picture
Professionals and the American Geophysical Union. I am currently
represented by Visuals
Unlimited.
Natural hazards have always been my passion and their tragedies have
always been my frustration. Through improved visualization, I believe
we can gain a better understanding of how they work and how we can live
with them. My photography works to this end.
